NATHALIE LORSON NAMED PERFUMER OF THE YEAR IN FRANCE AND ITALY

Paris, France, June 3rd, 2015 – Firmenich proudly announces that Nathalie Lorson was named “Perfumer of the year” in both Italy and France this year.

“On behalf of the Fine Fragrance team, I extend my deepest congratulations to Nathalie who inspires us every day with her restless, inquisitive and imaginative spirit”, says Olivier de Lisle, Senior Vice President Fine Fragrance. “We are all extremely proud of Nathalie for receiving not one but two such prestigious awards!” he adds.

Most recently in Paris, Cosmétique Mag honored Nathalie Lorson by officially nominating her “Perfumer of the Year” in France and awarding her the Cosmétique Mag Oscar. This award recognizes a talented career spanning over 35 years, her outstanding passion and her numerous creations.

Also, in Milan Nathalie was honored by Accademia del Profumo with the title “Perfumer of the year” for her creation Black Opium. Soon after its launch, the product reached the leading position in the market place as the most successful launch in 2014 in Italy.

Nathalie likes to compare herself to a gold digger: “I am a gold digger looking for nuggets. We find lots of gold dust, but not many gold nuggets!” Black Opium was certainly one”, shares Nathalie.
Based on an original idea by Nathalie and co-created with Marie Salamagne, Honorine Blanc and Olivier Cresp, Black Opium received the Fifi award for “best Prestige Fragrance” in France, Germany and the UK this year!

Nathalie Lorson joined Firmenich in 2000 with a rich experience, starting off with Roure and then IFF. Very fast, brands such as Jil Sander, Lalique, Gucci, Armani, Zadig & Voltaire, Paul Smith, Balmain, Boucheron, Mauboussin, Givenchy adopted Nathalie’s signature. Her most remarkable creations include Lalique Encre Noire, Flora by Gucci et Gucci Première and more recently Boucheron Place Vendôme (with Olivier Cresp), Versace Eros for Women (with Alberto Morillas & Olivier Cresp) and Azzaro for Her (with Fabrice Pellegrin) to be launched next September. Her endless commitment to creation combined with an incredible energy allows her to involve herself in many regions such as South America, Middle East or Asia extending there the number of her signatures.
