People and Communities Vetiver from Haiti

Since 2010, Firmenich has been engaged in an innovative multi-stakeholder collaboration with our long-term vetiver supplier and local amd international organizations to source sustainable vetiver from the Débouchette farming community in Haiti.

We increased our certification level to 50%. Now, more than half of our Haitian vetiver is Ecocert ESR – Equitable, Solidarity, Responsibility-certified, ensuring further price stability for the Débouchette farming cooperative.

We continue our work with the local community, focusing on women and children, and developed a health strategy for the cooperative.

Firmenich also continued supporting the school we built and equipped with computers. Along with Essilor, the French lens maker, we organized vision tests for students and gave corrective glasses to schoolchildren and community members who needed them.
