
As a Business Development Manager in the Flavor Division, I am responsible for developing and executing strategic plans, identifying business opportunities and technical needs, setting prices for our products and managing profitability in order to drive long-term growth.
This role is part of a selling team that includes: marketing managers that identify trends, creative flavorists who develop the flavors, food scientists that apply the flavors in various foods/beverages, sensory scientists who test products with consumers and the sales force which is the interface with our clients. We work together to execute on projects, understand our clients priorities, bring innovation to our customers and deliver consumer preferred flavors. As part of the Business Cycle, the Flavor Division also collaborates with other departments within the company such as Production Planning, Quality Control, Purchasing and Regulatory to ensure Firmenich is the flavor supplier of choice.
The Perfumery Division has a similar goal: to be the undisputed Number 1 fragrance company in the world. To achieve this, teams of professionals (Perfumers, Fragrance Development Managers, Application Specialists, Marketing, Consumer Insights, Sensory, Sales) combine their expertise to consistently create captivating scents that help our clients brands become consumer favorites.
