Nihon Firmenich K.K in Japan was established in May 1968

 

Our head office is located in Kawasaki city, next to Tokyo where experts in creation, application, marketing and our main sales office for Flavors, Perfumery and Ingredients are located. We have another sales office in Osaka.

Our manufacturing site for Flavors is located 170 KM north of Tokyo in Kita Ibaraki in Ibaraki Prefecture.

 

A Long Term Commitment

 

On March 11th, 2011, the North East of Japan bravely endured the effects of a magnitude 9.4 earthquake, a devastating tsunami and damage to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Electric Power Plant. We are grateful that all of our employees remained unharmed and that no damage was done to our facilities in Ibaraki and Kawasaki. Firmenich stands behind its 43 years of partnership by assuring the continued safety of our employees and the quality of our products.

 

Prepared for the Future

 

Firmenich reestablished Operations in Kawasaki and started manufacturing at our factory after 10 days, when water supply and electricity were restored. Committed to the future, we are:

 

• Strictly adhering to the JFFMA/IOFI & our internal HSE guidelines
• Measuring radioactivity daily (GIGA meter measurements of air inside and outside our factory)
• Established a backup plan for Flavors to be manufactured outside of Japan should that be required.
