Prioritizing nature through good governance
Complying with the Nagoya Protocol
Respecting Nature starts with the standards we demand of ourselves – and we have created dedicated governance processes to embed Nature.
Reflecting our holistic approach, we strongly support the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) (2010), we operationalize our commitments via dedicated governance, specific processes and unique programs. Our cross-divisional Biodiversity Steering Committee oversees integration of biodiversity across our businesses and focuses on two aspects that correspond to our main impacts on biodiversity: ABS due diligence and responsible sourcing.
We also put our expertise to work, as Vice-Chair of the Nagoya Protocol task force of International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and the International Organization of the Flavor Industry (IOFI), to create dedicated Flavor & Fragrance guidance on the Nagoya Protocol Principles.
