Since the 40’s, Rosa Damascena is picked and extracted in south Morocco around the M’Goun and Daddes rivers.

Rose was traditionally grown here in hedges around the gardens, mostly used as dried buds and also incorporated in powder in the “henna” recipe for its cosmetic properties.

The Moroccan rose absolute has a distinct smell from the Bulgarian and Turkish qualities.
