Geneva, Switzerland, October 22, 2019 - Firmenich is proud to welcome Sophie Labbé as Principal Perfumer in its Fine Fragrance team in Paris. With over 30 years in the industry, Sophie has signed numerous creative and commercial successes in luxury perfumery. Her refined style, sensibility and experience will add another new dimension to the perfumer team.

Armand de Villoutreys, President, Perfumery and Ingredients states: “Firmenich will always be a home for perfumery culture, and for this reason we remain committed to attracting and bringing value to the greatest talents of the industry, which is proven by the arrival of Sophie Labbé, who has a renowned reputation as a creative perfumer.”

Jerry Vittoria, President, Fine Fragrance Worldwide adds: “In recent years, we have been transforming our Fine Fragrance team to prepare for the future and anticipate new market demands. Sophie Labbé’s talent is recognized by all our partners, and her vast experience across international markets will help ensure our long-term sustained leadership in Fine Fragrance. I am delighted to welcome her to our team.”

Sophie Labbé explains: “Firmenich's influence in Fine Fragrance is highly reputed. Like many perfumers, joining the team and accessing its unique palette of ingredients remains a career dream. I was also deeply impressed by the company’s commitment to greater environmental and societal respect, and its creative strength through innovation.” A French woman from Charente, Sophie Labbé worked as a perfumer at IFF for 27 years. Her meeting with Jean Kerleo in the late 1980s was decisive in her choice to devote her life to her passion, and naturally led her to ISIPCA, the perfumery school in Versailles. Her many creations, for major brands including Armani, Bulgari, Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Ferragamo, Nina Ricci, Versace and YSL, reveal her sensibility and her attraction to the beauty of nature and aesthetics.
