PRESS RELEASE

FIRMENICH RECEIVES DOUBLE “A” FROM CDP FOR WATER & CLIMATE CHANGE MANAGEMENT

Geneva, Switzerland, November 23, 2017 – Adding to its “A List” for water, Firmenich has been recognized as a world leader for its actions and strategies in response to climate change, ranking on CDP’s Supplier Climate A List for the fourth consecutive year.

“Committed to advancing the UN SDGs, we have set ourselves ambitious 2020 environmental goals and have a vision to be carbon neutral,” said Gilbert Ghostine, CEO. “Consistently, reaching such leadership scores in CDP Climate Change, Water and Forests, and being named CDP Supply Chain Leader is testament that our actions are making a difference for our colleagues, our customers and the planet.”

Jane Sinclair, Firmenich General Counsel added: “Being awarded an “A” in water management and in climate change illustrates our deep commitment to environmental sustainability. Today, 100% of our European manufacturing sites solely rely on renewable electricity, and we are well on the way to achieving our objective of 100% of our plants powered by renewable energy by 2020.”

Neil McFarlane, Senior Vice President Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment commented: “Environmental sustainability is part of Firmenich’s DNA. We are very happy to be recognized by CDP year after year. We look forward to continually designing more environmentally-friendly processes and products for our customers and their consumers.”

At the CDP Europe Awards 2017 in Brussels, Firmenich received an award for its excellence in water management. The event gathered leading corporations, institutional investors and policymakers to address the importance of climate change, while celebrating the continent’s best practices in climate change, zero-deforestation and water stewardship.
