Firmenich sources its Petitgrain from the San Pedro region of Paraguay, an area known for its sunny climate, ideal for citrus growing. Paraguay Petitgrain is known for its characteristic tonality.
Every day from October to March, smallholder farmers carefully cut the leaves from the tree by hand. These are left standing for 24 hours before steam distillation by the farmers themselves, a traditional method that has the effect of stabilize the aromatic notes in the essential oil.
