Firmenich is among the last actors to source honeycombs from local beekeepers in the South of France (Var, Drôme, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes Maritimes and Vaucluse) whose quality is fully traceable.
Honeycombs are collected from beehives directly from a community of French beekeepers, before and after the honey harvest season.
Extraction is performed at the Firmenich factory of Tourettes (South of France).
After extraction, the remaining beeswax is sold to create candles or for cosmetics use.
Firmenich’s sourcing agreements with suppliers guarantee a premium quality as the purchased honeycombs are untreated, with no naphthalene.
