FIRMENICH REPORTS OVER 8% GROWTH

Geneva, Switzerland, October 5th, 2016 Firmenich posted solid results in its Fiscal Year 2016, which ended June 30th 2016. The Group achieved CHF 3.2 billion in net sales, growing +8.2% in local currency and +6.3% in Swiss Francs.

We are committed to taking this further, to continuously create winning solutions for our customers to strengthen their brands and delight their consumers.”

Among this year’s key highlights, Firmenich advanced its innovation with the publication of 29 patent applications to enrich consumer experiences worldwide, while contributing to greater health and well-being. For instance, the Group confirmed its leadership in white biotechnology, with the launch of Ambrox® Super, a highly sustainable and cost-effective amber note. Building on its commitment to innovate for greater hygiene and sanitation, Firmenich developed cutting edge mal-odor counteracting solutions to reinvent the toilet experience in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Also, Firmenich advanced its biomarine science to demonstrate the many nutritional benefits of marine proteins.

Reaffirming its drive to lead the charge in sustainability, Firmenich launched ambitious environmental goals for 2020, attained a perfect “100A” score in the CDP Supplier Climate A List, and a “Gold” status with EcoVadis. The Company also became the first Fragrance and Flavor house to engage its suppliers in the CDP supply chain climate change and water reporting index to drive a more sustainable value chain.

Confirming its long-standing commitment to responsible sourcing, Firmenich extended its Naturals Together Campaign this year to showcase the magic of Oud, Mint and Vanilla. Through the 150 natural ingredients that Firmenich sources today, the Group positively contributes to the lives of 250,000 farming families around the world.
