Jasmine sambac is the most important flower for religious ceremony in India, its use in perfumery came later.
In India, Jasmine Concrete EPL, Firmenich Joint Venture and #NaturalsTogether partner, is sourcing Jasmine sambac from the flower markets in Tamil Nadu, South of India. They have created close relations with collector agents. This strategy is perfectly integrated into local traditions: sourcing mainly focuses on flowers remaining after the morning trade for garland flowers, which allows flowers not to be wasted and kept at reasonable price level. After being purchased at the flower market, the buds are brought to the factories and scattered on the floor until they bloom before extraction.
