The olfactive profile offers smoky, leathery and pyrogenous notes.

LEATHER MD is a technical ingredient obtained by Molecular Distillation of a natural specialty.

It fulfills four primary dsm-firmenich requirements:

• Fluid, soluble and easy to use in automatic blending workshops.
• Safe substitute to a non-IFRA compliant range of products.
• Constant quality.
• Light color.

A primary extraction with a volatile solvent on fresh or dry biomass yields to a Concrete or Resinoid.
The Absolute is obtained via a second purification step in the process.

To offer an IFRA compliant solution to perfumers, dsm-firmenich Natural Ingredients Innovation Center in Grasse, France, developed LEATHER MD, a natural alternative to PAH limitation.
