SourcingAround 90% of Violet leaf extract are coming from Egypt. Firmenich mainly sources Violet leaves from this country and from France.
In Egypt, Firmenich is purchasing from its #NaturalsTogether partner who is working directly with farmers in the north of the country and on its own plantations. This supplier has developed an intercropping model with date tree and corn as it provides perfect shadows for violet growth.
Leaves are collected by Firmenich partner and extracted at their factory. Before being processed the violet leaf is stored during 24 hours, as leaves need to macerate to fully develop their olfactive characteristics.
Useful in the creation of green fruits (melon, kiwi), cucumber and yellow fruits (peach, nectarin).
