CEDROXYDE®
EcoIngredient Compass®
Cedarwood, Ambery, Dry Woods
A powerful and complex dry woody note, featuring vertical woody notes like cedarwood or patchouli, complemented by subtle ambery undertones.
This note can enhance a dry amber accord with a more pronounced woody facet. Suitable for chypre and oriental fragrances, it adds the woody aromatic effect typical of the chypre family. It's also ideal for fougère fragrances, imparting elegance and harmony.
Chemical synthesis corresponds to the construction of complex chemical compounds from simpler ones.
Our R&D follows the principles of Green chemistry whenever possible.
The dsm-firmenich woody family originated in 1972 with the discovery of the captive ingredient Polywood® and in 1986 with the launch of Norlimbanol®, two groundbreaking molecules that set the standard for powerful, long-lasting woody and ambery notes. These innovations laid the foundation for a series of advancements, introducing sustainable and high-performance alternatives to traditional woody ingredients like patchouli and sandalwood.
