Olfactive description
A versatile fragrance ingredient that combines a floral, rose-like scent with fruity undertones. It also imparts an earthy, camphoraceous quality and a hint of damascone-like character.
Perfumery usage
Methyl Cyclogeranate is a mild-intensity ingredient ideal for enhancing rose accords with fruity, fresh tonalities. It is non-sensitizing, making it a superb substitute for damascones. Methyl Cyclogeranate is the cyclogeranate equivalent of Damascone Alpha.
Process
Chemical synthesis corresponds to the construction of complex chemical compounds from simpler ones. Our R&D follows the principles of Green chemistry whenever possible.

dsm-firmenich is recognized for its rose ketones which are now under the scope of IFRA limitation due to sensitizing effects. Corresponding esters are not sensitizing and dsm-firmenich has developed many patented synthetics in this range (Cyclo-geranates).
