Rich sandalwood note, bringing roundness and voluptousness to compositions.
Upcycling description
dsm-firmenich uses the upcycled Turpentine extracted from the paper industry, often those that use softwood to manufacture cardboard. Derived originally from softwoods, this turpentine is valorized through a fractionation process in which we retrieve alpha and beta pinene, the two main molecules obtained from fractionated turpentine.
Process
Chemical synthesis corresponds to the construction of complex chemical compounds from simpler ones. Our R&D follows the principles of Green chemistry whenever possible.
History
Sandalwood notes are essential in perfumery due to their powerful, long-lasting character. To offer an alternative to natural resources, dsm-firmenich scientists have developed a range of more affordable, sustainable, and high-performance offerings.
