Characterized by a clean ozone note, the intensity of CYCLOZONAL™ allows to boost citrus notes and brings a sensation of fresh purity which is useful in many applications.

dsm-firmenich uses the upcycled Turpentine extracted from the paper industry, often those that use softwood to manufacture cardboard. Derived originally from softwoods, this turpentine is valorized through a fractionation process in which we retrieve alpha and beta pinene, the two main molecules obtained from fractionated turpentine.

Chemical synthesis corresponds to the construction of complex chemical compounds from simpler ones.
Our R&D follows the principles of Green chemistry whenever possible.

One of the very first watery molecules introduced to the perfumery industry was CALONE®, the sole responsible for launching the marine fragrance trend of the 1990s. Due to its success our R&D program was launched to discover further ingredients with a similar structure.
