GERANIUM EGYPT EO

Firmenich sources its Geranium from Egypt, the largest producer of Geranium oil in the world, with 250 tons exported in 2020.
Independent farmers in Minya, Beni Suef and Fayoum provinces harvest the geranium once or twice a year, cutting the leaves and flowers by hand in the early morning before the sun is high, and leaving them to wilt in the field for two to three days to increases oil yield. Once dried, the leaves are steam-distilled by the farmers themselves, by small local processors, or by larger manufacturers.
