Leading in Diversity & Inclusion
Thriving Through Our Differences
We welcome differences across physical and cultural boundaries, lifestyles and management styles. This openness enables our teams to be creative powerhouses and positions us to respond to the needs of customers around the world.
As a diverse company, we foster a strong culture of inclusion that respects each employee for who they are. We know that diverse teams operating in an inclusive environment have proven to be more successful, more agile and faster to respond to changing consumer needs.

LGBTQI+ Engagement
With the world at a critical juncture on diversity and inclusion, our commitment to making a positive difference together has never been stronger. After an evaluation of the effectiveness of our policies, actions and communication, we became one of the first four companies and institutions in French-speaking Switzerland to receive the Swiss LGBTI-Label for our inclusive organizational culture.
Promoting a culture of belonging is everyone's business. Our colleagues ensure a safe and inclusive working environment that reinforces our values and respects the dignity and diversity of all people.

Equal Pay for All Everywhere
This year marks the renewal and upgrade of our EDGE certification with the achievement of "Move" status globally, rewarding our progress in expanding diverse representation, achieving pay equity and fostering a strong sense of belonging among our diverse workforce.
In this commitment, we have focused on gender-neutral parental leave for the birth and adoption of a child, recognizing all family models and the active role that fathers and mothers play in childcare.

Differently-abled Colleagues
Building on our long-standing commitment to welcoming people with different abilities, we are committed to achieving 5% representation by 2025.
Our efforts are supported by:
-
In December 2019 we committed to The Valuable 500 movement
-
In August 2020 we were recognized by Singapore President Halimah Yacob for our outstanding efforts in integrating visually impaired employees
-
In FY21 we hired six visually impaired panelists at Firmenich Singapore

Our Achievements
This year has been marked by racial injustice related to socio-economic disparities and ethnic inequity. At a time when our commitment to diversity and belonging has never been more important, Firmenich is even more committed:
Caring About People
From the farmers and workers in our supply chains to our colleagues, customers and consumers – people are at the heart of everything we do. We care for every person touched in any way by our business. Caring about people starts by ensuring their fundamental human rights.
